DAY 1 - (ARRIVAL – NEGOMBO)

Arrive in Colombo International Airport!

Upon arrival you will be met by your tour guide and will be transferred to your hotel in Negombo where you can relax and unwind with a view of the ocean after a long flight. Later in the evening will explore this city with a City Tour.

Overnight stay in Negombo.

DAY 2 - (NEGOMBO – DAMBULLA)

After early breakfast will drive to your next destination Dambulla (or Vicinity). Enroute will visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage.

Upon arrival in Sigiriya (or Vicinity) will check into the hotel. Rest of the day at Leisure.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village, 13 km (8.1 mi) northeast of Kegalle town in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world.

DAY 3 - (DAMBULLA - SIGIRIYA – POLONNARUWA - DAMBULLA)

After an early breakfast will tour the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, also known as Lion Rock.

There are many steps, most with railings leading up to the top of the Rock Fortress and the ascent involves a steep climb.

After completion, afternoon will drive to UNESCO World Heritage listed site of Polonnaruwa another ancient city

Sigiriya Rock Fortress “The marvelous rock fortress of Sigiriya is a rare jewel among the many treasures in Sri Lanka. The site was the domain of King Kashyapa whose aim was to build an impregnable fortress and within it, a heavenly abode. The rock fortress is also known as the ‘Lion Rock’ because a massive lion carved out of the rock once sat at the entrance, on the summit are the foundations of the Royal Palace built for King Kashyappa along with a pool, sunrise facing throne constructed from solid rock and panoramic views of the below.

Polonnaruwa where the ruins of Sri Lanka’s second medieval capital “Polonnaruwa enthralls its visitors with a timeless reflection of the country’s glorious history. The quaint landscapes studded with sites of archaeological importance are all well-preserved and lie on the east shore of the ancient man-made lake - Parakrama Samudraya (literal translation – sea of Parakrama). Peddling one’s way around the sites is the best way to observe and appreciate their antiquated glory as the sites are a little too overwhelming to explore just by foot

DAY 4 - (DAMBULLA – ANURADHAPURA – DAMBULLA)

After an early breakfast will drive to the Scared and Historical city of Anuradhapura and explore this city. After Completion will visit Mihintale.

The city of Anuradhapura is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been the center of Theravada Buddhism for several centuries. Standing on the banks of the historic Malvathu Oya, this city is an ancient city in the world. It has been continuously colonized by different rulers. Plus, it is a famous city for its storied remnants of ancient Sri Lankan civilization. Furthermore, these remnants of the city continuously draw millions of tourists and the sights of this city are considered to be most evocative sights in the entire South Asia. Besides, the city is rich in archaeological and architectural wonders with elevated brick towers, ancient pools, mammoth dagobas, and crumbling temples. All of these wonderful establishments were created during the ruling period of different dynasties.

Mihintale is revered as the birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, but, regardless of your beliefs, it is unforgettable: a sequence of beautiful shrines, stupas and caves strung out across wooded hills, usually busy with crowds of devout, white-robed pilgrims. According to legend, it was at Mihintale – literally “Mahinda’s Hill” – that the Indian missionary Mahinda, met and converted King Devanampiyatissa in 247 BC, establishing Buddhism as the island’s state religion.. Buddhism was immediately embraced with fervour by the Sinhalese people and soon became firmly established in the island

DAY 5 - (DAMBULLA – KANDY)

After breakfast will depart to the hill capital of Sri Lanka, Kandy. En route will pay a visit to the Dambulla Cave Temples and the visit a Spice Garden in Matale.

Dambulla is a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that king Valagam Bahu took refuge from invasions in the 1st century B.C., later turning the caves into a rock temple.  Some of its frescoes are over 2000 years old. The caves have a mixture of religious and secular paintings and sculptures with ceiling frescoes depicting scenes from the Buddha’s life and Sinhalese history.

Spice Garden - Since time immemorial, this emerald isle has remained popular for its exotic spices, world over and today you will visit a spice garden where cinnamon, cardamom, pepper creepers and other spice trees are, you will be educated on the diverse variety of spices available in the country as well as on how they are grown and processed.

Dinner & Overnight stay in Kandy.

DAY 6 - (KANDY)

This morning after breakfast will explore Kandy City and including a visit to the Gem museum later will pay a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

Kandy - The prime landmark of the hill capital – the temple of the tooth relic is the pride of Buddhists in Sri Lanka and world-over. Located at the heart of the Kandy town, right before the green waters of the Nuwara wewa, the temple’s whitewashed walls with tops shaped like that of clouds surround the temple grounds”

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic or Sri Dalada Maligawa is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.

DAY  7 - (KANDY – NUWARAELIYA)

After breakfast will checkout and drive to Nuwaraeliya enroute visiting a Tea plantation / Factory to have an insight of the local tea manufacturing process including the daily routing of local workers/ Tea pluckers. Upon your arrival do a sightseeing tour in Nuwara Eliya.

Tea Plantation & Factory - Sri Lanka is one of the world's largest exporters of tea. Since the introduction of tea to Sri Lanka in mid-19th century Sri Lanka has been in the midst of the tea industry. For many miles prior to reaching Pussellawa Town from either direction you will find acres and acres of tea plantations, in fact, nothing but tea estates. During your visit you will observe the process of manufacturing tea and learn how world’s most famous tea is graded. You will also have the opportunity to taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea.    Later in the evening will have High Tea by the Garden at the famous Grand Hotel.

DAY 8 - (NUWARAELIYA – ELLA – YALA)

After breakfast in hotel leave for Yala via Ella. En route will take a stop in Ella and experience a Zip Line Adventure. (Flying Raavana)

Ella, which literally translates into ‘waterfall’ is a name fit for this little town located in a hilly nook, owing to its stunning vistas richly adorned with cascades that trickle down its rugged terrains. Located, Ella offers some of the most scenic sights available in Sri Lanka. Very famous hot spot with the ardent adventure tourist with it myriad of adventure trails and what a beautiful sight it presents to the tired mind after a long journey.

DAY 9 - (YALA – GALLE – SOUTH BEACH)

Early morning drive to Yala National Park for a game drive. Jeep Safari. (Packed breakfast will be provided).

Later in the afternoon will leave to your beach destination along the Sri Lanka's southern coast visiting Galle – the one of the oldest cities in the country.

Yala – its magnificent sights of majestic elephant herds, fine-feathered peacocks, great black bears and agile leopards that steal away into the shadows of the thick foliage are unparalleled to any of the national parks in the country.  Apart from the rare sightings of varied animal species, which includes herds of elephants and leopards, the visitors can also enjoy a picnic snack on the beach in the beautiful setting of unspoilt beaches, as the Southern park border lies along the South-eastern coastal line”

Galle is a living time capsule. A UNESCO declared world heritage Site Home to the largest occupied Fort in Asia, its quaint beauty extends beyond its golden beaches and cerulean waters. The main attraction of Galle no doubt is its ancient Fort, which instantaneously takes the visitors back to the Dutch Colonial era. One can bask in the picturesque views and the rich history while walking through the narrow, cobbled streets, relish a meal from one of the interesting restaurants within the Fort or enjoy the cool sea-breeze beneath the landmark lighthouse”

DAY 10 - (SOUTH BEACH)

DAY 11 - (SOUTH BEACH)

DAY 12 - (SOUTH BEACH – COLOMBO)

Breakfast at Hotel. Later will drive you to the Commercial Capital “Colombo”. Once we reach will explore this city with a City & Shopping Tour.

Colombo: the capital and its impressive Parliament House, designed by celebrated architect Geoffrey Bawa. Colombo is fascinating, with a cozy mixture of past and present and is the commercial center of the country. The original trading settlers - the Portuguese, Dutch and British have all left in their wake churches and monuments, names and religions, costumes of their languages, which have been absorbed into the speech of Sri Lankans.

DAY 13 – (DEPARTURE)

Breakfast at Hotel.

Later will drive you to the Airport in time for the departure flight, leaving Sri Lanka with beautiful memories.
